Description

The Data Engineer will support and maintain the data warehouse according to the data model and metadata repository, while providing business intelligence analysis and strategic/operational support. The role requires expertise in data management, cloud data engineering, and business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Support data warehouse maintenance and business intelligence analysis
• Align systems, processes, and policies with business needs and objectives
• Identify and implement process improvements and governance compliance
• Ensure accurate data provision through adherence to metadata governance standards
• Resolve incidents, mitigate risks, and log issues through correct channels
• Provide consulting services to business units, helping them make data-driven decisions
• Contribute to transformation goals by participating in Nedbank initiatives and social responsibility efforts
• Maintain vendor relationships following vendor management guidelines

Qualifications

• Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
• Degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or Mathematical/Statistics
• Data Management (DAMA) Certification
• Certification/formal training in relevant technology
• 8 years of relevant experience, with 3-5 years in a data management or business role
